MADREPERLA forma parte de una colección de iluminación y mobiliario en desarrollo llamada: "La Flora y la Fauna de los Cadáveres" la cual reflexiona estéticamente sobre el derecho a morir con belleza y amor. Esta pieza se trata un candil fabricado con los restos de ventanas viejas, moldeadas con un proceso similar al de la cremación humana, sometidas a 860°C durante más de 10 horas.
MOTHER OF PEARL is part of a lighting and furniture collection in development called: "The Flora and Fauna of Death" which embodies an aesthethic interpretation of the right to die with beauty and love. This piece is a lamp made from the remains of old windows, molded with a process similar to that of human cremation, subjected to 860°C for more than 10 hours.
Es una apología a la vida después de la muerte, un organismo suspendido en el espacio, frágil y eterno a la vez. La manufactura de las piezas estuvo a cargo del propio diseñador, siendo él mismo quien elaboró las piezas artesanalmente. Para dar vida a MADREPERLA se necesitan moldes cerámicos de alta temperatura, vidrio reutilizado de ventana, herrajes construidos manualmente, electricidad, mucho calor y gravedad. Cada pieza será diferente.
The pieces are an apology for life after death, an organism suspended in space, fragile and eternal at the same time. The manufacturing of the pieces was in charge of the designer himself, with him being the craftsman of almost all of the lamps. To give life to MADREPERLA, high-temperature ceramic molds, reused window glass, manually built hardware, electricity, a lot of heat and gravity are needed. Each piece will be different.
La luminaria es una fuente de luz que se puede colocar sobre una mesa o un vestíbulo. Cada lámpara es una pieza de arte, artesanía y diseño en sí misma, comparte características de las tres disciplinas, proponiendo una visión contemporánea sobre los sistemas de producción, el hábitat, y el libre albedrío.
It is a luminaire that you can place on a table or in a hallway. In some way, the lamp is art, craftsmanship and design, it shares the characteristics of all three, thus proposing a contemporary vision of production systems, habitat and free will.
